Ironmongery

Acorn Spencer can specify, schedule and supply ironmongery from the majority of ironmongery manufacturers and we have special relationships and distributorships with many of the major manufacturers.

Acorn Spencer will supply ironmongery as specified by the client and will not try to ‘force’ them to accept an alternative if they do not want one. We do, however, always specify and schedule products from manufacturers that we have built up strong relationships with over the years, if the client does not have a preference.

We like to follow a project from beginning to end including:

Specification of ironmongery with the client and architect

Acorn Spencer being specified on drawings

Quotation of material costs to architect, client, council or contractor

Pricing to tendering companies

Site visits to discuss requirements with successful contractor, client and architect

Supply and delivery of materials to site

Site support for any problems or queries

Supply of ‘Maintenance Manual’ to complete contract

Door Furniture is the centre piece of any door so selecting ironmongery that complies with regulations and has aesthetic appeal to suit a project is essential. Regulations regarding commercial projects have at last been cleared up, ‘opening the door’ to a wider range of door furniture with greater flexibility. The traditional ‘return to door’ lever furniture actually has many competitors!

With this in mind, Acorn Spencer can supply products from virtually any door furniture suppliers or manufacturers, including Frank Allart, Carlisle Brass, Euro Spec, Fortessa, Hewi, Normbau, Karcher, Cifial, Valli and Valli, Heritage, Croft, Olivari, Mandelli, Ingersoll Rand, Frelan, Instinct and many many more, all of which have been fully tested to British and European Standards. Where applicable, goods will be compliant with the requirements of ADM04, BS8300, (The Equality Act, formerly the Disabled Discrimination Act & Document M)

In the case of special needs and listed Buildings the British & European Standards & The Equality Act, formerly the Disabled Discrimination Act, is sometimes overruled due to the nature of the project.
